About the Role:

This role will require low-level analysis of contemporary mobile devices to gain thorough knowledge of how they operate and how threats attack them in order to drive McAfee’s thought leadership for preventative measures.
Key Responsibilities:
• Analyzing threats and vulnerabilities targeting iOS mobile platform
• Low-level analysis and research of threats, devices and operating systems
• Authoring blog posts, conference papers and presentations on threats and platform-related topics.
• Researching into next generation mobile threat protection technologies.
• Working with other researchers and Engineers to drive McAfee’s product line of industry-leading security products protecting our customers.
Experience, Knowledge and Skills
• Strong understanding of Apple OSX and iOS operating systems
• Experience with HTML5 and Java Script.
• Experience with other mobile platforms (e.g. Android, BlackBerry etc.) desirable
• Strong ability in code debugging and reverse engineering various file formats. Mach-O and ELF binaries desirable.
• Experience with IDA Pro or equivalent disassembly tools
• Experience in malicious code analysis
• Knowledge and experience in computer security including malware
• Strong Engineering practices including coding standard adherence and an understanding of quality assurance and source code control.
• Agile and prototyping experience
• Experience of networking and Internet protocols (eg. TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP, FTP)
• Data mining experience desirable
• Familiarity with one or more programming languages desirable:
o C#, C++, Perl, Java, JavaScript, Python.
• Can do attitude with onus on innovation and ability to execute
• Good written and verbal English communication (if non-English native)
Education:
• BS (CS, EE) or equivalent including work experience.
