We are looking for motivated and talented individuals at various career stages of their careers including Software Development Engineer, Software Development Lead, and Software Development Manager. We also have openings in Program Management and Testing.
Roles and Responsibilities:
As a development lead, you will lead a team of talented SDEs working with equally talented test engineers and program managers to design, develop, and ship cutting edge platforms and services to enable highly efficient, reliable, and cost effective services for OSD customers and partners. You will have the opportunity to lead in the following areas:
Drive the engineering rhythm and process of the team from planning, resource allocation, design, coding, deployment etc
Provide architectural and engineering leadership
Drive engineering excellence and deliver product with uncompromising quality on schedule
Recruit, develop, and grow a team of talented engineers for sustained long term success
Optimize team effectiveness with cross feature team and cross discipline collaborations
Work closely with MSRA research teams to rapidly transfer innovative technology to Bing
Qualifications:
The Search Technology Center Asia has multiple openings for talented professionals in software development, testing, and program management disciplines. An ideal candidate must feel comfortable operating within a fast moving research and development team. You should possess a strong technical background and a good grasp of software engineering principles, exceptional problem solving, design, programming, and testing skills, and a minimum of 5 years of experiences in delivering software solutions. You should be self-motivated and self-directed and able to collaborate and mentor team members. A demonstrated ability to come up-to-speed quickly on a new technical domain is presumed. Excellent interpersonal communication skills, written communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment are very important. Knowledge and experiences in machine learning, information retrieval, data mining, networking, and distributed systems are a plus. Chinese language skills are a strong plus. These positions are located in Beijing, China.
Additional qualifications for this position include:
6+ years of relevant software design, development, and shipping experience.
Proven team management experience preferred.
Great design and problem solving skills, with a strong bias for quality and engineering excellence at scale. Our code runs on thousands of machines on multiple continents, so bring your ‘A’ game.
Outstanding coding chops in C++ or C#.
Demonstrated experience shipping products - on time, no bugs.
Experiences in large scale online services engineering and operation a strong plus
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (Masters or PhD preferred).
