I just tried to install Matrix on my laptop, generate sitekey and answer is the same "Hardware key not found".

This key makes error "Error updating key" so it doesn't fit.

A: No I have not any SR for Matrix installed. But I have SR4 of Rhino, may it cause problem?

show me a screenshot of the folder where matrix is installed.

Matrix 6.0 with any updates basically needs Rhino4 SR3. but student key software doent need even rhino installed.

do you have matrix usb key connected ?

I just download MSI installation file of Matrix and I have not a USB key and installation CD.
So Matrix for students is also need USB key? I didn't know it.
All people from this forum (successfully run Matrix) have USB key?
I can't believe it. I think Matrix with student key for test doesn't need USB key.

i have now a serious question... i see you have downloaded the MSI... meaning, one executable installation.

where did you downloaded it from ? probably thats a SR1 or SR2.

original matrix have a cd with lot of folders and files.

Yes, majority of us have downloaded version .MSI SR1 maybe that’s why we can’t make it work,  if someone can share CD version will be much appreciated

Also from website they say you need plenty of puter
power for new program ;they recommend a dual core
processor and plenty of ram.

I'd suggest you guys start a new thread with a name
not related to gem vision or the new target and pm every one
that is interested.So you can investigate ways of circumventing
the protection to enable to trial program before you buy.

If you are using matrix 6 with SR 1 then you
wont be able use crypkey tools.

If you are using just matrix 6 with rhino 4 SR4b
you can still use crypkey tools.
However as crypkey v 7.1 uses your HDD serial
it best to use the student key program in matrix
program folder to get sitecode and make site key.

If you use a key generator from another computer
the HDD serial will be wrong and you get the hardware
error also.

Now its confirmed,

Matrix 6 SR0 : original setukp : works with crypkey software protection

Matrix 6 SR1 and SR2 : have nalpeiron software protection system, which is even weaker to crypkey.

Key level & options are trial and error testing on your part
I notice your HD serial gives you error?

Can you share the program target? If not available can you supply link?

The companies definitely watch this thread, my app has now changed protection.
Update has new target still crypkey but won't even give me trial now on my
test machine (HaHa) something to play with! They help us learn!

typically some software  has multiple protection, even licensed with the site key, theres one more challenge, u need to create user login that protected by MD5 hash code... ,any idea ?

Are you shure it is 6.0 without SR? I have the same MSI - so it doesn't works.
Did you make it working with this MSI and without USB key? If yes then I give up.
I have the same "conditions" but it always "Hardware key not found".

To make it easier specify whether your using student key creator that version is still crypkey protection and will work.

The newer version using the new nalpeiron protection scheme is different and won't work with the crypkey solutions.

P.S. Yes it is easy to license sdk to make license for itself with multiple company files.
The easy fix that I noticed in v 7.103 is my hard drive s/n is being kept in a file and so the trial won't run (easy to fix since I never changed the fix for different machines hard drives since in the past wasn't needed)

So the clone on my test machine needs to be reformatted instead of just cloned to work (just takes an extra 5 minutes to clean)

P.S. Someone want to share what to look for with the protection for nalpeiron? I haven't had a chance to look at it yet.

If not ;then did you run the crypkey exe itself?
Is the a *.key file there with do not disturb?

No, I have not any crypkey program.
I can't run crypkey.exe because of it's absence.
I searched on whole drive C: and can't find it.
Yes, I have *.key file with do_not_disturb inside in program's dir.
But after first try of ckinfo and copy-paste generated key in StudentKeyGenerator *.key file changes to sitekey. And problem still exist.
