Aim and Scope
-------------
Political violence and acts have created disruptions in the global economy. The short-term impact had been felt in almost all
aspects of the economy particularly the tourism, airline industries and financial markets. The current focus against
political violence and terrorism will affect both the pace and trajectory of new technology trends, as more Government
efforts are focused on developing new technologies. This International workshop is intended to bring together academics and
security/counterterrorism practitioners/developers to present the latest intelligent technologies to combat terrorism and to
protect critical infrastructures, people and society. The first edition of IT-CoTeS was co-located with the Sixth
International Conference on Information Assurance and Security (IAS 2010) .
The workshop provides a venue to present early work in the relevant areas. Workshop seems papers applying various Intelligent
Technologies and the topic of interests are as follows:
* Criminal network analysis
* Link analysis and network mining
* Dynamics of networks and analysis
* Web mining applied to blogs and Web communities
* Text mining applied to blogs and Web communities
* Network visualization technologies
* Quantification of threats and risks
* Performance evaluation measures
* Privacy and trust issues
* Network complexity analysis / reduction
* Disaster management systems
* Critical infrastructure protection
* Surveillance and Reconnaissance infrastructure
Submission Information
----------------------
Authors are invited to submit papers through EDAS Conference Management System
(http://edas.info/newPaper.php?c=9859&track=12535). All the accepted papers will be published by Springer in the series of
Communications in Computer and Information Science (CCIS). CCIS is abstracted/indexed in ISI Proceedings and Scopus. Authors
can confirm the Springer Author Guidelines at the following web page: LNCS Format. The accepted papers will also be included
in the CCIS Electronic Book Series hosted in the SpringerLink Digital Library. Selected papers will be published in a special
issue of JIAS.
