The role involves Vulnerability Research, reverse engineering expertise, deep understanding of threats and how to block these both in the perimeter and on the host. The role involves working with a world class research team (McAfee Labs) spread across the globe.
Primary Responsibilities:
Ability to analyze publicly and privately disclosed vulnerabilities.
Develop PoC for vulnerabilities and do root cause analysis.
Research and develop NIPS/HIPS content for vulnerabilities and malicious threats through reversing/network behavior/os/binary/code analysis techniques.
Experience & Qualifications
Minimum Education of BS or at least 4 years of experience is required.
Experience on working with HIPS/NIPS research and development is strong plus
Competencies / Skill sets required for the role:
1. Good OS internals insight (Windows/*nix)
2. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
Programming experience in C/C++ and scripting languages such as Perl/Python/Ruby.
Ability to learn new skills and apply them in a rapidly changing, high pressure environment
Concrete knowledge of security principals, practices, exploitation, vulnerability analysis techniques
Experience in binary debugging/analyzing tools eg. IDA, OllyDbg, windbg
Good understanding of working with security software and appliances TCP/IP Networking experience is a must.
