*** Call for Papers for ICIN 2010 ***
2010 14th International Conference on Intelligence in Next Generation Networks (ICIN): “Weaving Applications into the Network Fabric: The Transformational Challenge”
11-14 October 2010, Berlin, Germany
ICIN is a forum for people with a serious interest in telecoms and web services and service architectures. The ICIN conference programmes are created by an independent committee of industry experts from papers submitted by leading strategists, engineers and researchers from industry, academia and government. A rigorous peer review process guarantees a cutting edge conference programme free of hype.
ICIN 2010 will highlight how the future will open up as seen from both technical and business perspectives. In today’s environment, the challenge of creating new applications is like creating rich new tapestries from an ever-changing array of materials, techniques, and dyes. New applications are formed by weaving together emerging network capabilities, computational power, network and customer data, and content in valuable new and different patterns.
The ICIN peer review process requires an extended abstract to be submitted for review by the Technical Programme Committee. Extended abstracts should describe original, previously unpublished work not currently under review by another conference, and must be submitted electronically via EDAS. The ICIN 2010 conference proceedings will be published (electronically) within the IEEE Conference Publications Program and individual papers will be indexed within the IEEE Xplore digital library.
We would be pleased to receive your extended abstract submission for ICIN 2010, to be held in Berlin. Extended abstracts should be submitted via http://edas.info/N8600.
Further information about ICIN is available at www.icin.biz.
** Topics of Interest **
Submissions that reflect new thinking and offer new perspectives will be favoured. Submissions should be original work that is either technical or business oriented; commercial presentations will be automatically rejected. Submissions that are regarded as recycled presentations from other events or conferences will also be rejected.
** Contributions are sought in, but not limited to, the following areas:
* The Telecom Landscape and Business Models
* Value Creation and Innovative Charging
* The Network Fabric as a Smart Platform
* Services
* Enhancing the User Experience
* Transforming Lessons from the Field
* Telecom Enabling Social Responsibility
More details on topics of interest can be found at http://www.icin.biz/cfp or on the PDF version of the call for papers that can be downloaded from http://www.icin.biz/files/cfp/icin2010_cfp.pdf.
Papers for ICIN must be written in English and submitted electronically through the EDAS system. A short (50 word) abstract is required on registration of the submission. A detailed extended abstract should then be uploaded for review by the Technical Programme Committee. Detailed instructions for authors on using EDAS are at http://edas.info/doc/authors.html.
** NEW **
For ICIN 2010 extended abstracts are invited for three presentation categories:
1. Technical Paper Sessions - the core of ICIN, constituting at least 80% of the programme
2. Work in Progress Sessions - shorter contributions that report on work still in progress at the time of submission of the extended abstract
3. Demonstration Sessions - 'enhanced poster sessions' with the ability to present multimedia demonstrations
Extended abstracts for Technical Paper Sessions should be between 1000 and 1500 words long. They should include relevant figures and tables describing results and should indicate how the abstract will evolve into a final paper.
Extended abstracts for Work in Progress and Demonstration Sessions should be between 400 and 600 words long and should indicate clearly what information can be expected to be presented at the time of the conference.
All extended abstracts will be peer-reviewed and submissions may be accepted for oral presentation, poster or panel sessions. All presentation formats have equal status and all papers presented at the conference will appear in the conference proceedings (maximum length 6 pages). The ICIN 2010 conference proceedings will be published (electronically) within the IEEE Conference Publications Program and individual papers will be indexed within the IEEE Xplore digital library.
Authors who plan to present an accepted paper must complete their paid registration at the speaker rate by the stated deadline. There is no refund for cancellation but substitutions may be made at any time prior to the event. The speaker rate is only available to accepted presenters in the programme (one presenter per paper). Co-authors participating in the event should register as delegates.
ICIN Events reserves the right to exclude a paper from the programme and from the conference proceedings and from distribution after the conference if the paper is not presented at the conference.
Extended abstracts should be submitted electronically through EDAS at http://edas.info/N8600. Extended abstracts and full papers should conform to templates that can be downloaded from http://www.ieee.org/web/publications/pubservices/confpub/AuthorTools/conferenceTemplates.html.
** Important Dates **
- Extended abstract submission: 23 April 2010
- Acceptance notification: 25 May 2010
- Speaker registration: 30 June 2010
- Conference paper due: 30 July 2010
- ICIN 2010 Conference: 11-14 October 2010
We look forward to receiving your submission and seeing you at the conference.
Kind regards
Max Michel
