    Opportunities and Activities

The three day conference programme will combine keynote speakers from both industry and academia with a multi-track technical programme. There will be opportunities to attend interactive, high quality, peer reviewed sessions which will provide detailed insights from forward thinkers working in the themes of the conference. The conference will include a number of specialised workshops as well.

Additionally there will be an exhibition for both international business and niche market SMEs to display their latest products and services and to undertake a range of networking opportunities.

PAPER SUBMISSION
Full papers reporting original and unpublished research results on NGMAST topics are solicited. Submissions must not be under consideration for publication elsewhere while being evaluated for this conference.

FORMATTING: The proceedings will be published by the prestigious IEEE Computer Society Press. Submissions must be in IEEE two-column format and must not exceed 6 pages, including figures, tables and references. The cover page should contain title, author names, affiliations, and email addresses. Please indicate clearly the corresponding author. Include up to five keywords from the above list and an abstract of no more than 300 words.

HOW TO SUBMIT: The paper submission for NGMAST'09 will only be accepted through the EDAS Paper Submission System accessible from the link on the website. Only papers in PDF will be accepted for reviewing. Submissions as e-mail attachment will not be accepted.

REVIEWING: Consistent with standard practice, each submitted paper will receive rigorous peer reviewing. Papers will be selected based on their originality, timeliness, significance, relevance and clarity of presentation. Selection will be based on full papers. Submission implies the willingness of at least one of the authors to register and present the paper, if accepted. All accepted papers of the conference are expected to be presented and will be included in the conference proceedings.

CAMERA READY MANUSCRIPT: Accepted papers will need to be formatted in IEEE format (see publication guidelines on the conference website). Camera ready papers must be submitted directly to IEEE through a link that will be activated on the conference website. Again: Only PDF files will be accepted!

RNDM 2010 is the second meeting in the series of RNDM workshops. Following the success of the first event that took place in St. Petersburg, Russia (http://www.rndm.pl/rndm09/rndm09final.pdf), RNDM 2010 is aimed at attracting world-class participants from both academia and industry working in the area of reliable networks design and modeling.
Special attention will be paid to network survivability, i.e. the capability to deliver essential services in the presence of failures. Therefore, the workshop will focus on methods of survivable networks design and modeling, including the issues of dedicated/shared backup paths, p-cycles, fast service recovery, service resilience differentiation, survivability of multilayer networks and others.

The topics cover, but are not necessarily limited to the following:

- coordination of multilayer survivability operations,
- design of dedicated/shared backup paths,
- fast service recovery,
- fault management and control in survivable networks,
- impact on detection accuracy and latency on survivability,
- methods for measurement, evaluation, or validation
  of survivability,
- modeling malicious behaviour or attacks on networks,
- models and algorithms of survivable networks design and modeling,
- multilayer network survivability,
- optical networks survivability,
- p-cycles and other protection structures,
- restoration strategies under different types of failures,
- role of redundancy in survivable networks,
- self-regenerative networks,
- service resilience differentiation,
- survivability of anycast and multicast networks,
- survivability of P2P and overlay systems,
- survivability under traffic grooming in multilayer networks,
- theory and methods of reliability and availability,
- use of self-healing techniques in surviving attacks,
- wired/wireless network survivability.

The authors are encouraged to submit full papers describing original, previously unpublished research results, not currently under review by another conference or journal, addressing state-of-the-art research and development in the area of reliable networks design and modeling.
All submitted papers will be reviewed. All accepted papers will be published in IEEE Xplore. Paper submission and review will be done via EDAS (http://www.edas.info/newPaper.php?c=8823&track=9505). The maximum length of submitted papers should not exceed 6 pages formatted according to the IEEE instructions available at http://www.ieee.org/web/publications/authors/transjnl/

Extended version of papers of special merit will be considered for publication in a Journal Special Issue. A Best Paper Award will be given.
