[Nets4Cars-2009] invitation to the 2nd workshop
You are invited to participate our 2nd International Workshop on Communication Technologies for Vehicles (Nets4Cars 2010) at 7th IEEE International Symposium on Communication Systems, Networks and DSP (CSNDSP 2010), 21-23 July 2010, Northumbria University, Newcastle, UK.

Sincerely yours,
Nets4Cars Chairs
GENERAL INFORMATION
International Workshop on Communication Technologies for Vehicles (Nets4Cars) provides an international forum on the latest technologies and research in the field of intra- and inter-vehicle communications (protocols and standards), mobility and traffic models (models, methodologies, and techniques), testing, and applications. Furthermore, overview papers on ongoing projects and potential future technologies are of specific interest. The Nets4Cars 2010 is being held within the CSNDSP 2010 Symposium.
Authors are invited to submit papers presenting new research related to the theory or practice of intelligent transportation systems (ITS) and vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs) in the framework of the following main topics (not limited to):
*vehicle-to-vehicle, vehicle-to-roadside communications
*intra-vehicle communications
*vehicle-to-Internet communications
*mobility and vehicular traffic models
*information collection and dissemination
*analytical and simulation techniques
*experimental systems and field operational testing
*safety and non-safety related applications
*recent standardization efforts and problems (e.g. 802.11p)
*overview of the activities and status of the ongoing projects
*deployment strategies and predictions
PAPER SUBMISSION:
All papers presented will be published in the CSNDSP proceeding and the IEEE Xplore (approved) and indexed in relevant databases. Authors of selected outstanding papers will be invited to submit extended versions of their papers for consideration of publication in a International Journal of Autonomous and Adaptive Communications Systems (IJAACS) Special Issue.
Authors are invited to submit full papers in English (in PDF format) of not more than 5 pages (including figures, tables & references) in IEEE double-column format. Submissions must pre-sent original work that has not been previously published, and is not under submission elsewhere. All papers must include a title, complete contact information for all authors, and key-words on the cover page. The corresponding author should be identified clearly. Please visit the CSNDSP WebPages (http://www.csndsp.com/) for detailed guidelines on manuscript preparation and submission, and for up-to-date information.
VENUE
City of Newcastle upon Tyne: Situated on the north bank of the River Tyne, the city owes its name to the Norman castle built in 1080, by Robert II of Normandy, the eldest son of William the Conqueror. The area around Newcastle was historically a Roman settlement. The city grew as an important centre for the wool trade and it later became a major coal mining area. The port developed in the 16th century and, along with the shipyards lower down the river, was amongst the world's largest shipbuilding and ship-repairing centres. These basic industries have now gone and the city is largely an administrative and cultural centre with two universities - Newcastle and Northumbria.
The venue for the Nets4Cars-2010 is the City Campus East at Northumbria University at Newcastle.
